Principality of Burke Island is a sovereign and independent State because it is held by a sovereign
and independent government, the Holy Matriarchal See. In this position, it doesn't need a resident population over it. It is an overseas Principality of the Holy Matriarchal See.

Principality of Burke Island is a State member of UTA, a confederation of States. Ambassadors of
UTA are accredited to States and international organization as representatives all the States
memebrs of UTA Confederation.

The Matriarch of the West is also member of the UTA regency council in quality of sovereign
Princess of Burke Island.
